We archive, research, and visualize theatre history in Romania<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Digital Theatre Studies Laboratory is a space for research, archiving, and creation situated at the intersection of theatre studies and new digital technologies. We started from a concrete need: preserving and valorizing fragile documentary collections that often quietly tell the story of theatre on the territory of Romania, in its multiple cultural inflections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We focus on digitizing and archiving valuable collections\u2014photographs, correspondence, program booklets\u2014and strive to restore their visibility through digital humanities tools: interactive visualizations, data networks, maps, timelines, and multimedia dissemination formats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, the laboratory supports theatre research through a rigorous, data-driven approach that complements traditional interpretive and historical methods. We believe a deeper understanding of the theatrical phenomenon requires both analytical sensitivity and tools capable of relating documents, contexts, and broader networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although our physical space is limited, we aim to become an open platform for online exhibitions, collaborative projects, and interdisciplinary initiatives. The laboratory is neither a museum nor a file server\u2014it is a community in formation, dedicated to the recent past and the critical future of theatre in Romania.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Laboratorul de teatrologie digital\u0103 este un spa\u021biu de cercetare, arhivare \u0219i crea\u021bie aflat la intersec\u021bia dintre studiile teatrale \u0219i noile tehnologii digitale. Am pornit de la o nevoie concret\u0103: conservarea \u0219i valorificarea fondurilor documentare fragile care spun, adesea \u00een surdin\u0103, povestea teatrului de pe teritoriul Rom\u00e2niei, \u00een multiplele sale inflexiuni culturale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ne ocup\u0103m cu digitalizarea \u0219i arhivarea unor colec\u021bii valoroase - fotografii, coresponden\u021b\u0103, caiete program - \u0219i \u00eencerc\u0103m s\u0103 le red\u0103m vizibilitatea prin instrumente specifice digital humanities: vizualiz\u0103ri interactive, re\u021bele de date, h\u0103r\u021bi, cronologii \u0219i forme multimedia de diseminare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00cen acela\u0219i timp, laboratorul sprijin\u0103 cercetarea teatrologic\u0103 printr-o abordare riguroas\u0103, fundamentat\u0103 pe date, care vine s\u0103 completeze demersurile interpretative \u0219i istorice tradi\u021bionale. Credem c\u0103 o \u00een\u021belegere mai profund\u0103 a fenomenului teatral presupune at\u00e2t sensibilitate analitic\u0103, c\u00e2t \u0219i instrumente capabile s\u0103 pun\u0103 \u00een rela\u021bie documente, contexte \u0219i re\u021bele mai largi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
